Gabapentin Customer Reviews

Gabapentin is an anti-epileptic drug, also called an anticonvulsant. It affects chemicals and nerves in the body that are involved in the cause of seizures and some types of pain.

All brands of gabapentin are used in adults to treat neuropathic pain (nerve pain) caused by herpes virus or shingles (herpes zoster).

The Gralise brand of gabapentin is indicated for the management of neuropathic pain only. It is not used for epilepsy.

The Horizant brand of gabapentin, in addition to treating neuropathic pain, is also used to treat restless legs syndrome (RLS).

The Neurontin brand of gabapentin is also used to treat seizures in adults and children who are at least 3 years old, in addition to neuropathic pain.

  1. Geremy Tippett

Gabapentin has been a life changing drug for me. I always sleep better feel better and have less anxiety when I wake up. It really does help with everything from my back to restless legs. Thanks to USAHEALTHSTORE I live a much better life. There always on time and never had any issues.

  2. For Anxiety

I’ve been taking gabapentin for anxiety, I used to throw up bile and saliva in the middle of the night, along with nausea caused by stress and anxiety, since taking gabapentin before bed, I’m able to sleep and have stopped throwing up. I recommend taking it with a meal. I don’t have side effects from it, just makes me tired ,I take 300 mg before bed.

  3. For Bipolar Disorder

By far not everyone’s experience but my brush with gabapentin was scary. I was only prescribed 300 mg per day. The first day I took it I felt sedated. Second day is when I experienced my first intrusive suicidal thoughts. This scared me but I continued to take it as prescribed, thinking that with all the positive reviews here things would surely get better. The third day was spent daydreaming about my suicide. Fourth day had me thinking about death. By the fifth day these effects subsided along with any anti-anxiety effects the medication had on me. This is a black box warning for this drug, by the way.

  4. For Hot Flashes

Jewel- I’ve been on Gabapentin 2400 mg a day and have never noticed weight gain with them. Every one is different though. I’ve been taking it for years, for fibromyalgia and neuropathy. Hope this helps

  5. For Alcohol Withdrawal

Hi, I have had alcohol problems for 40 years and was never able to stop for more then a few weeks. I have been taken gabapentin 100mg, 3 times a day and 15 mg of mirtazapine at bedtime gabapentin amazing. I can finally sleep and think before I drink, like my mind is not running all the time at 100 miles an hour. Its been 6 months now and I can finally say, I have a life.

  6. For Neuropathic Pain

After a severe arm injury and three surgeries to repair my shattered bones, the nerve pain was extreme. There was so much damage that opioids like oxycodone did nothing. Even morphine didn’t help!! Gabapentin at a high dosage — 2400 mg a day — has helped me a lot. Yes, I still have strange sensations, some numbness and stinging in my arm BUT the nerve pain is not controlling my life. Side effects are not too bad not too bad — I can drive. No nausea, no dizziness. I do sleep much longer. Warning: If your dose isn’t working, you MIGHT need it adjusted. I started on 900 mg a day and had no relief. The higher dose finally did the trick. Good luck to all, I never expected to be living in chronic pain, and now I know how hard this is.

  7. For Bipolar Disorder

In my opinion gabapentin has been a life saver. Conventional drugs for bipolar never have worked well for me. I have bipolar 1, ocd, gad, ptsd, and a picking disorder. With my bipolar I have mixed mania and rapid cycling. Since taking gabapentin my family has noticed a 100% improvement. I am more patient, less irritable..just more in control overall.

  8. For Diabetic Peripheral Neuropathy:

My pain doctor put me on 1125mg of Gabapentin after two misdiagnosis for extreme leg pains. I became bedridden for three months while on this dose. After a year, she finally looked at the lab reports from the emergency room of my first day, raised the medication a bit and called it diabetic nephropathy. I notice the maximum allowable dose of 3600 mg on here information sheet and built up to that dosage. Finally, some minor relief! My new doctor asked how much I was taking and he replied, “We’ll keep you on that dose if it’s working.” We’ve discussed a larger doses beyond this maximum dose, but I’m good so long as everything is improving with no side effects. If your doctor is keeping you on a low dose, get a new doctor. It take a huge dose to even begin to see progress. Build up the dosage slowly and you have a good chance of avoiding the nasty side effects that others have told me about.

  9. For Pain:

I have muscle issues with spasticity and contractions. First night I took my gabapentin 300mg before bed. I woke up feeling very good not stiff. Usually I wake up walking like a robot and pain every where and fingers stuck close. No. I had a relief. Come bed time my weak leg started dragging again, burning feeling back and my left arm bent so I’m looking like a monster again. I immediately took my pill and went to bed. I was surprised I saw my fingers relaxed and open while walking. I am happy today. I’m in bed typing this, not drowsy or sleepy yet. I drunk 8 ounce water with the pill.
